DJ Titan is a well established nightclub Drum + Bass DJ from Dallas,
Tx. He first was introduced to electronic music when he was 15 in
1996 after he watched the movie "Hackers". Upon hearing the Dillinja
remix of Bjork's "Cover Me" (on the album "Telegram"), he knew he was
hooked on the most different of all electronic beats that he had heard
thus far. He didn't know it was called Drum + Bass at the time.
Months later, one of his best friends told him he had to listen to
this crazy techno, which turned out to be Roni Size + Reprezent's (and
Drum + Bass') breakthrough album "New Forms". When he heard the intro
beat on "Railing", he immediately knew that this was the perfect beat
that best described his energy and taste. With a background in
alternative, metal, and the latest electronica, Drum + Bass was just a
perfect fit for DJ Titan. Some of his main influences prior to
discovering the perfect beat, were bands and artists such as Deftones,
Soundgarden, Daft Punk, The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, 311,
Nirvana, and DJ Shadow, The . He soon later discovered the art of
crate digging and began to seek music from the latest sounds in Drum +
Bass. At the time, Pish Posh, Bad CompanyUK, Ed Rush + Optica, Ray
Keith, Ram Trilogy, and J Majik were among a long list of favorites.
DJ Titan started DJ'ing in 1999 in his bedroom and within a year,
landed his first real DJ gig. It wasn't until Jessika Axel + Eric
Knowel, of Gremlin Productions, booked him to play the slot before
NYC's DJ Pish Posh aka DJ Wally. Since then he started promoting his
own events featuring acts such as Adam F, DJ Fresh, Evol Intent,
Planet of the Drums, and many more. He has had a few residencies,
worked at, then eventually owned a record store, and has mad, MAD
experience working each aspect of the music to help it grow. He is
now the resident Drum + Bass DJ for the World Famous Lizard Lounge,
and runs his own intimate weekly at local hot spot, Mick's Bar, every
single Monday. DJ Titan has been all over the states, including St.
Louis, Springfield, Little Rock, Los Angeles, Miami, and Denver, so
don't be suprised if he pops up in your local DnB community to shake
the dance floor! None of this could have been possible without the
help of his best friends, and long time, loyal supporters.
